Domestic Intelligence Briefing

The purpose of this briefing is to: put into public record federally accepted evidence and support documentation proving that the Muslim Students Association (MSA) club on our public school campuses supports war in the U.S., is a recruiting front for the Muslim Brotherhood international terrorist organization, and has been shown in Federal court to support the named terrorist organization, Hamas.
This briefing in public record also makes certain that our locally elected officials are aware of Title 18 U.S.C. Section 2385 (2)(a)(3) seditious conspiracy statute, and the legislative trigger event of a federal finding of Imminent Danger as defined in Brandenburg v Ohio. This legislation should be of deep and immediate concern to our elected Civil Servants as it may potentially affect their sworn oath of office and political careers.
The Goals of EducateUSA in promoting the Domestic Intelligence Briefing are:
1. To bring into the domestic intelligence community all of our elected community leaders by January 2011.
2. To make domestic intelligence briefings a normal and usual tool for the protection of our schools and communities.
The justification and impetus to create this document comes from this quote from the 2007 federal government Trial Briefing for the Holy Land Foundation Financial Terrorist trial:
“The facts and nature of this case are complex and requiring of special and unique context for reliable and informed determinations. The jury cannot possibly, on its own, sort through the facts of this case without expert guidance and instruction on the myriad of issues set out in the summary of the case. It is ultimately up to the jury to decide whether the defendants knowingly provided material support to Hamas, but without the benefit of expert testimony, the jury will be unable to arrive at a point where they can make an educated and responsible decision.”
IIn 2007 the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified in federal criminal court the Muslim Brotherhood in North America as an international terrorist organization having setup over the past 30 years a network of federally identified fronts that are designed to promote radical da’wa in America. What that looks like is their using their tax exempt status to legally promote their stated intention to overthrow of the government of the United States and to replace it with a theocracy based on a traditional interpretation of the Koran and Sunnah of Islam. The Muslim Brotherhood is the parent organization of the terrorist groups including Hamas, Al Qaeda, and other violent terrorist organizations worldwide and in the U.S.A.

In America, the Muslim Brotherhood promotes the exact same agenda as Islamist terrorists worldwide with only their methods and tactics differing from those of violent terrorists like Osama bin Laden. In fact, a major point of contention within the American Muslim community (ummah) is not about their god’s order to be at war with all non-Muslims until all people live under sharia, but rather on the tactics of nonviolent (peaceful) jihad, or violent jihad.
The new book named the Muslim Mafia provides an excellent “connecting the dots” presentation on the Muslim Brotherhood and presents significant new evidence against CAIR, the propaganda front for Hamas which is the violent Brotherhood front fighting Israel and all Jews. The book provides additional new evidence against this criminal organization.
There are hundreds of organizations in America with links to the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization. They all share a common ideology and often have interconnecting Boards of Directors or are in some other way associated with each other, often through the family relationships of their executive officers and management. Their organizations have been shown in federal terrorism trial evidence to be part of a well established secret radical Islamist program to promote the ideology of jihad (holy war) in America.

In order to get a better picture of the American fronts for the terrorist organization, the Muslim Brotherhood in North America, you should also read the new Hudson Institute report which has been presented to Congress. It is advisable for our local government leaders to be aware of the federally accepted evidence proving that domestic terrorism in our local governments jurisdiction exists.
Along with being provided with federally accepted evidence against the MSA, our elected officials need to be aware of federal Title 18 conspiracy and sedition legislation that carry potential jail sentences associated with knowingly providing support to Domestic Enemy front organizations that support war in America, promote the ideology of the Government of Iran (GOI), and are part of the Hamas support structure as has been proven in the recently successfully prosecuted terrorist financing trial of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) in 2008.
The Evidence:
The federally accepted evidence presented in the Domestic Intelligence Briefing has been deemed true and accepted without objection by all parties, and in 2008 was grounds to convict on terrorism charges the founders and Board of Directors of the largest and oldest tax-exempt Muslim Islamist charity in North America. This same evidence can and will be used in all Hamas related terrorism trials.

The top image is of declassified FBI evidence and the second image is of secret internal documents created by a leader of the worlds largest and oldest Islamist terrorist organization, the Muslim Brotherhood, also known as the “Ikewan” (Brotherhood).
These FBI declassified document are accepted evidence that:
- The Muslim Students Association (MSA) supports jihad (a holy war) in the United States;
- The MSA supports the (Salafis fundamentalist) ideology promoted by the Government of Iran (GOI);
- The MSA, along with other Islamist organizations including NAIT, make up a complex network of organizations that share members of their boards of directors, just as historically the American Communist Party shared board members between associated nonprofit organizations, and as has been shown recently on national news networks, does the community organization ACORN. This federally accepted evidence is VERY important! It says that there is little or no operational or managerial distinction between the people who run the MSA, and those who run NAIT and the other fronts within their network that support terrorism.
The second piece of evidence is referred to as “Smoking Gun” evidence. Real solid proof that the MSA is acknowledged by a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization that the club found today on over 600 public and private school campuses is a terrorist front organization. This fact shows that our elected officials are allowing in their administrative role to provide taxpayer funds to support an FBI identified terrorist front organization in our public schools.

This federally accepted piece of evidence is proof that the MSA was setup and has continued to act as the recruiting front for the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization in the U.S. It was excerpted from a speech that was recorded of a leader in the Brotherhood who succinctly states the intended and continuing function of the MSA. No evidence has been accepted into federal court indicating that the role of the MSA to recruit students into the International terrorist organization has changed, and this evidence is undisputed.

This evidence was not from the HLF terrorist trial, but was found in the IPT library. It is another document that was declassified showing that the Muslim Students Association Persian Speaking Group (Iranians) are:
- Associated with extremist Black Muslim organizations and both NAIT and ISNA which are FBI identified fronts for the international terrorist organization, the Muslim Brotherhood.
- Promotes the Iranian ideology as stated in “The Manifest of the Islamic Revolution and the Massacre in Holy Mecca”, a document promoting the Ayatollah Khoemeini
- Promotes the political agenda of the country of Iran
- Provides anti U.S. and anti Israel publications
- Supports the war efforts of the government of Iran in the Persian Gulf
- The document also shows that although the MSA was created by the most infamous of Sunni terrorist organizations, the Muslim Brotherhood, the original goal of the Brotherhood in uniting both Sunni and Shia Islamists in their Islamist Revolution (radical da’wa) in America has been successful. Nowhere else in the world do both major sects of fundamentalist Muslims work together. Only in America.

In the above federally accepted evidence I have placed the two documents top to bottom and drawn a line between the “Hamas Structure” and “Life Cycle” of a Typical Hamas Activist in order to clarify their relationship in regards to the political Islamist concept of “Da’wa”. This form of radical da’wa as is promoted by the international terrorist organization, the Muslim Brotherhood, and its North American recruiting fronts, including the Muslim Students Association (MSA).
This federally accepted and uncontested evidence is proof that the Muslim activists on university campuses are part of the Hamas support network and function as “a pool for recruiting military activists” from American high schools and universities.
Radical da’wa is one of the core political Islamist mandates that is totally foreign to the freedoms we take for granted in our western world view. Our culture has no comparable concept. Da’wa is more than the western religious concept of proselytizing, or sharing the faith, or being evangelical within the community. It includes all of these, in addition to the belief that all Muslims should work to have the Islamic religion and legal structure be supreme wherever Muslims live.
Radical Islamist activist organizations in the universities including the MSA and essentially every Islamic student organization in America, are working to have Islam and sharia compliance institutionalized by any and every method possible as is commanded by the Islamic religion, and specifically as promoted by the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization. Historically worldwide, da’wa is initially used as a tactic for conquering a country from within by using the host countries laws against the host, as has been shown in federally accepted evidence in the successfully prosecuted HLF terrorism trial that links the MSA to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood by this evidence. In countries with a significant radical Muslim community, like England, France, Germany, and every country with over 10% Muslim population, da’wa has taken on a violent face leading to domestic violence on a national scale.
The above evidence shows that the MSA, which is represented by the diagram labeled “Universities” is in fact an activist a recruiting front for Hamas, a named terrorist organization in America. The document shows that typically participation as an activist in the MSA campus club is in fact a precursor phase to participation in the Hamas military wing.

The above photo is proof that members of the MSA at my local community college in Santa Clara, California, which is directly fed by our local high schools, while representing the school club, broke federal firearms laws on public school campus. The gun is not painted to show it is a toy. The MSA supported by our locally elected officials in our local high schools feeds directly into this terrorist front organization which promotes anti Semitism, war in the U.S. and promotes political indoctrination in our community colleges and virtually all of our universities.
In the US, imitation firearms should be marked with specified color under the 15 USC 5001 and 15 CFR 1150. The requirements apply to toy, look-alike and imitation firearms but not to (a) non-firing collector replica antique firearms based on a real thing designed, manufactured and produced before 1898; (b) traditional BB, paint-ball or pellet-firing air guns; and (c) decorative, ornamental, and miniature objects of dimensions no more than 38 mm in height by 70 mm in length.
On a personal note:
I live in what is probably the most politically correct community in America. My district is represented by Rep. Anna Eshoo, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
Last year I made a public appearance at a Sunnyvale California town hall meeting where I was confronted after the meeting by an irate Muslim woman who was screaming at me that there was no jihad. I had never mentioned jihad, and the only way she would have associated that word with my presence was for her to have read the ACT! for America brochure which I personally handed to Representative Eshoo.
As the woman yelled at me, Representative Eshoo was about was 20 foot from me being interviewed by two different media outlets. Everybody heard what was going on, but Representative Eshoo and the media pretended not to notice, just as they pretended not to notice when about 1000 Islamists rallied in Santa Clara, CA to protest against Israel and began assaulting a couple hundred counter protesters as soon as the police disappeared from the vicinity of the protest.
Upon leaving the protest area after I and at least six others had been intimidated and assaulted by Islamist protestors, two police officers on bicycles were seen hiding behind a building watching the assaults on the small group of counter protesters. The police department later said that there were no 911 calls and no reports of any incidents, even after the incidents were reported to the police officers present at the time.
Notice that this shoe waving at the demonstration was not directed at Saddam Hussein in Iraq, but at Americans in the home district of Rep. Anna Eshoo, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senator Diane Feinstein, none of whom have made any public comments. What I find interesting is that all three of these locally elected officials are on top secret Congressional intelligence committees and have not said a word about what is going on in their own district.
About the Answer Coalition
I personally believe that the danger in our schools is very real, and our elected officials, media, and police department make every effort to avoid being aware of, or mentioning anything even remotely related to Islamist intimidation, violence, or the reality of federally identified terrorist fronts operating in their jurisdiction.
A house on my street is occupied by Muslims where the women wear black from top to bottom with only their faces showing. The men all have beards, shaved heads, and no mustache. This is of course all legal, but understanding that this form of dress is representative of the Salifas Muslim extremesit ideology promoted by the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization, and the Muslim Students Association, I am afraid to place an Act! for America bumper sticker on my vehicles for fear the message against sharia in America would potentially lead to my vehicles being damaged.
I remember as a child in Redwood City, California (about 17 minutes from my home in Mountain View) when my home was covered with swastikas, our local synagogue was burned down (at least twice), and I was called “the Jew” by a school bully. Now our children are careful not to wear a Star of David, kepah (skull cap), or discuss Jewish or Israeli issues on our local community college campus for fear of intimidation and harassment by Islamist students.

On campuses throughout our country women are harassed and intimidated by Islamists and called whores because they not cover their heads. At a local university, Islamists physically attacked peaceful protesters supporting Israel, and at our local community college (above) Islamists broke federal gun laws by using a toy gun pointed at another student’s head as they promoted their anti Israeli political position.
I recently went to my dentist in San Francisco and while talking to the Russian receptionist, mentioned a past Islamist rally in the city where counter demonstrators where threatened by Islamists with death and being covered in the blood of our children. She turned pale, looked around to see if anybody was listening, then told me that recently a young woman and her son had visited the office. While the woman was with the doctor, the child stayed in the waiting room. He approached the receptionist and asked if she was a Jew. She replied that she was a Christian, to which the boy proudly responded that when he grew up he was going to kill all Christians. When the mother was informed of the incident she said there was nothing she could do about it because the boy’s father was teaching him to hate.
Supporting the MSA is not at this time illegal, just as supporting the Holy Land Foundation front for the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist front was not illegal prior to their indictment for terrorism related offences, and being a Nazi Collaborator was not illegal before it became illegal as is currently defined in the Patriot Act.
What may potentially be demonstrated in court is that accusing an elected politician of being an Islamist Collaborator, which is considered a derogatory, offensive, insulting statement, is true, not based in malice, and is not a pejorative statement if an elected official who knowing the purpose of the MSA as shown in this federally accepted evidence, continues to provide tacit financial, facilities, communication and other sorts of support to the MSA after being informed of the federal evidence showing the MSA to be an FBI identified front for a Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization which supports the Hamas network and the government of Iran.
There is no legal requirement for the MSA to be endicted of any offence prior to elected officials being legal identified as Islamist Collaborators.
The Muslim Students Association and the Jihad Network

The following essay, adapted from the Introduction to this booklet, shows how, as early as the 1980s, operatives from the Muslim Brotherhood, parent group for al Qaeda and Hamas, formulated a blueprint for a "jihadist process" that would ultimately sabotage the "miserable house" of the United States. These Muslim Brotherhood operatives saw that the work of undermining the U.S. could be best accomplished by the use of front groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Students Association. But while CAIR was designed to work in the legal-cultural realm, posturing as another of the minority rights groups functioning in the public square, the MSA's role was to be restricted to college campuses, where it would advance the cause of radical Islam and lead the effort to stigmatize Israel.
As revealed in documents seized by the FBI and entered as evidence in a Texas court, the Muslim Students Association is a legacy project of the Muslim Brotherhood.[1] The Brotherhood is an organization formed by a Hitler-admiring Muslim named Hasan al-Banna in Egypt in 1928.[2] It was designed to function as the spearpoint of the Islamo-fascist movement and its crusade against the West.
The Brotherhood spawned al-Qaeda and Hamas.[3] Its doctrines make up the core of the terrorist jihad conducted by organizations such as Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Hamas and the government of Iran.[4] Its agendas have been clear since its creation: infiltration, subversion and global terror with world conquest as the goal.
…To establish one Islamic state of united Islamic countries, one nation under one leadership whose mission will be to reinforce adherence to the law of Allah...and the strengthening of the Islamic presence in the world arena....The goal...is the establishment of a world Islamic state.[5]
The first target was the “near enemy” – the Arab states that al-Banna and his followers felt had betrayed Islam. The United States – the “far enemy” – would not become a specific focus of the Brotherhood until many years later.
The organization’s aspirations for world dominion seemed like a fantasy until the Iranian revolution of 1979. But that event showed the jihadists that they could conquer and govern a state and use it as a base for Islamic revolution elsewhere. There was no doubt who the enemy was. The Iranian leader Ayatollah Khomeni coined the phrase “Great Satan” and “Little Satan” to demonize the United States and Israel and mark them for destruction.
“Destroying Western Civilization From Within”
A formal plan for targeting America was devised three years after the Iranian revolution, in 1982.[6]. The plan was summarized in a 1991 memorandum written by Mohamed Akram, an operative of the Muslim Brotherhood. “The process of settlement” of Muslims in America, Akram explained, “is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process.’” This means that members of the Brotherhood “must understand that their work inAmerica is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”[7]
This memo surfaced in a Texas courtroom in the fall of 2007 after prosecutors introduced it as evidence in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation, once the largest Islamic charity in the United States.[8] The HLF was charged with funneling charitable donations to the jihad terrorists of the Islamic Resistance Movement, or Hamas, a Brotherhood organization that now controls the Gaza Strip. But the implications of this document go far beyond the Holy Land Foundation.
It is actually a blueprint for the subversion of American society, and the eventual imposition of Islamic law in the United States. This would mean an institutionalized oppression of women, homosexuals, and religious minorities; the end of freedom of speech and the freedom of conscience; and the replacement of democracy by theocracy.
U.S. authorities had been keeping an eye on Brotherhood operatives even before the memo surfaced. In 2001, U.S. officials accused Youssef Nada, a member of the organization, of funding terrorism.[9] Two years later, American investigators described Soliman Biheiri, a businessman in Virginia, as the Brotherhood’s U.S. “financial toehold.”
Surveying the Islamic organizations that existed in the U.S. in 1991, Mohamed Akram declared in his memo: “The big challenge that is ahead of us is how to turn these seeds or ‘scattered’ elements into comprehensive, stable, ‘settled’ organizations that are connected with our Movement and which fly in our orbit and take orders from our guidance.”
At the end of the document, Akram provided “a list of our organizations and the organizations of our friends” – apparently, those whom he believed were likewise dedicated to this great project of sabotaging the “miserable house” of American society. Surveying all these groups filled him with enthusiasm: “Imagine if they all march according to one plan!!!”[10]
Akram contemplated a network of many overlapping groups, with personnel that move from one to the other and hold positions in different organizations simultaneously—an arrangement that resembles the Communist Party’s creation of interlocking front groups during the Cold War and complicates the task of understanding and tracking the pattern of their activities.
The organizations Akram saw as advancing the Islamo-Fascist movement in America included, among many others, the Islamic Society of North America, the North American Islamic Trust, the Islamic Circle of North America, the International Institute for Islamic Thought, and the Islamic Association for Palestine – from which came the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) three years later. But perhaps the most important of these groups in terms of the long term infiltration and conquest the Brotherhood envisioned was The Muslim Students Association (MSA).
The Stealth Jihad of the MSA
Established in January 1963 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the Muslim Students Association of the United States and Canada, or MSA (also known as MSA National) currently has chapters on nearly 600 college campuses across North America.)[11] The relationship between MSA National and the individual university chapters is not a fixed hierarchy, but rather a loose connection. Thus the policies and views of the national organization may differ from those of some of the local chapters.) Stating that its mission is “to serve the best interest of Islam and Muslims in the United States and Canada so as to enable them to practice Islam as a complete way of life,”MSA is by far the most influential Islamic student organization in North America.[12]
Founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood, MSA was named in Mohammed Akram’s 1991 memorandum as one of the Brotherhood’s likeminded “organizations of our friends” who shared the common goal of destroying America and turning it into a Muslim nation. These “friends” were described by the Brotherhood as groups that could help teach Muslims “that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands ... so that ... God’s religion Islam is made victorious over all other religions.”[13]
From its inception, MSA had close links with the extremist Muslim World League, whose chapters’ websites have featured not only Osama bin Laden’s propaganda, but also publicity-recruiting campaigns for Wahhabi involvement with the Chechen insurgents in Russia. According to author and Islam expert Stephen Schwartz, MSA is a key lobbying organization for the Wahhabi sect of Islam.[14]
MSA solicited donations for the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, whose assets the U.S.government seized in December 2001 because that organization was giving financial support to the terrorist group Hamas. MSA also has strong ties to the World Assembly of Muslim Youth.[15]
Charging that U.S. foreign policy is driven by militaristic imperialism, MSA steadfastly opposes the American military incursions into both Afghanistan and Iraq.[16] The organization also follows the Arab propaganda line in the Middle East conflict and has condemned the anti-terrorist security fence that Israel has built in the West Bank as an illegal “apartheid wall” that violates the civil and human rights of Palestinians.
An influential member of the International ANSWER steering committee, MSA maintains a large presence at ANSWER-sponsored anti-war demonstrations.[17] The pro-North Korea, pro-Saddam Hussein ANSWER is a front organization of the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party.[18]
Local chapters of MSA signed a February 20, 2002 document, composed by the radical group Refuse & Resist (a creation of the Revolutionary Communist Party’s) condemning military tribunals and the detention of immigrants apprehended in connection with post-9/11 terrorism investigations.[19] The document read, in part: “They the U.S. government are coming for the Arab, Muslim and South Asian immigrants. … The recent ‘disappearances,’ indefinite detention, the round-ups, the secret military tribunals, the denial of legal representation, evidence kept a secret from the accused, the denial of any due process for Arab, Muslim, South Asians and others, have chilling similarities to a police state.”[20]
MSA has strongly opposed the Patriot Act, which it describes as an “infamous” piece of legislation. The organization’s chapters across the United States have similarly denounced virtually every other national security initiative implemented by the U.S. government since the 9/11 attacks.
MSA chose not to endorse or participate in the May 14, 2005 “Free Muslims March Against Terror,” an event whose stated purpose was to “send a message to the terrorists and extremists that their days are numbered ... and to send a message to the people of the Middle East, the Muslim world and all people who seek freedom, democracy and peaceful coexistence that we support them.”[21]
But while it is possible to understand its political orientation from some of the positions it has taken on large national issues, the Muslim Students Association comes into sharper focus in the actions of the individual chapters that do its work every day on campuses across America. Executive Order 12947 on January 23, 1995, declared unlawful organizations and individuals committed to disrupting the Middle East peace process. Hamas was listed on the original Order, and officially declared as a Specially Designated Terrorist; a designation status created by Executive Order 12947.
Subsequently, in 1996, Congress passed the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act (AEDPA), which created the term “Foreign Terrorist Organization” and resulted in the codification of the material support statute of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2339B. In October 1997, the State Department listed Hamas as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
The new statutes and laws enacted by Executive Order 12947 and AEDPA prohibited the provision of any type of support to any component of the designated organization.
This is another illegal act of intimidation by an organization which meets the federal definition of a domestic terrorist organization (see legislation below)

(B) armed conflict, whether or not war has been declared, between two or more nations; or
(C) armed conflict between military forces of any origin; and
(5) the term “domestic terrorism” means activities that—
(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;
(B) appear to be intended—
(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or
(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and
(C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.

Under the USA PATRIOT Act, once the government decides that conduct is "domestic terrorism," law enforcement agents have the authority to charge anyone who provides assistance to that person, even if the assistance is an act as minor as providing lodging.

(3) to organize or help to organize any society, group, or assembly of
persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any government in the United States by force or violence; or to be or become a member of, or affiliate with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof.
(b) For the purposes of this section, the term “government in the United States” means the Government of the United States, the government of any State, Territory, or possession of the United States, the government of the District of Columbia, or the government of any political subdivision of any of them.
SEC. 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to attempt to commit, or to conspire to commit, any of the acts prohibited by the provisions of this title. II. FACTUAL BACKGROUND
Hamas is an international terrorist organization with the stated objective of destroying the State of Israel and replacing it with an Islamic state comprised of what is now Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Hamas is organized into distinct wings, or bureaus, that perform different functions, but operate as a seamless whole. It includes a military wing, responsible for carrying out suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks; a social wing, which operates much like a social welfare agency; and a political wing, which sits above the military and social wings and is responsible for setting policies and guidelines regarding Hamas’ activities. The defendant Holy Land Foundation (HLF), sometimes called “the Fund,” was an integral part of the Hamas social infrastructure. Not only did HLF operate to support the Hamas agenda, but it was created for that very purpose.
On January 24, 1995, pursuant to Executive Order 12947, the Department of Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control, designated Hamas as a Specially Designated Terrorist organization. This designation makes it illegal for any United States person or entity to engage in any unlicensed transactions or dealings involving the property or interests of Hamas.
Hamas’ designation as a Specially Designated Terrorist organization has remained in place since January 24, 1995. On October 8, 1997, the Secretary of State, pursuant to the laws of the United States, designated Hamas as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization.”
By 1995, Hamas had made clear its intention to violently derail the peace process by undermining what was perceived as a corrupt and ineffective PA, and continuing its violent campaign of suicide bombings, kidnappings and other paramilitary actions.
